What To Wear To Thanksgiving

Happy (almost) Thanksgiving! This has to be one of my favorites holidays. I mean what's not to love? You get to see your friends and family and eat good food together and have jolly ole time sharing all the things you're grateful for this year. And although I won't be able to be with my family or Pedro's family this year, I can still be grateful and mindful of all the amazing things I've been blessed with in my life.

And of course, we want to look cute too as we're taking a bunch of embarrassing family pics. So, here is my look that I will be wearing on Thanksgiving. I normally overdress for most holidays, but the older I get the lazier my "holiday" looks have become. Bye-bye to those days when I wore 6' heels to celebrate NYE (oh, the painful memories)! This year, I wanted to style a simple yet put together look that anyone could wear. I chose my favorite pair of denim from 7 For All Mankind that have been broken in and tested with time. I've worn these jeans to fancy events, dog park, grocery shopping -- you name it. They've passed the test of being versatile and comfortable. And because they're high waisted I don't have to worry about my "food baby" sticking out toward the end of the night as my gluttony grows more and more. And of course, the most logical top choice was a cozy and soft sweater. And since it's getting much cold here in NorCal I thought it'd be nice to style the jeans with this cute yellow sweater from ASOS, which also happens to be super colorful adding that nice touch of festivity. For shoes, you can stick to whatever feels more comfortable. I chose my new pair from Rebels that I have been wearing non-stop the past 3 weeks. I have never owned a shoe that didn't require some time to be broke into, but with these babies I was able to wear them on the day I got them without any painful blisters. I also love how they're so festive with the velvet material and embroidery. These can dress up any casual outfit.

And here are the things I am grateful for this year:

1. My family and their good health

2. All of the amazing opportunities I've had through AFB

3. Moving to California

4. New friends

5. Old friends

6. Phil'z Coffee

7. In-n-Out

I hope you have an amazing Thanksgiving season and just remember how loved you are by your family and friends and make sure to see them. Until next time, be good and do good AND eat lots of turkey and everything else on the table (holiday calories don't count)!
