May we think of freedom, not as the right to do as we please, but as the opportunity to do what is right

Happy 4th of July! Happy Independence Day!

I have always loved the colors on the American flag along with the stars. I've had this burning desire to find a star dress to wear for 4th of July and I ended up finding it in a thrift shop. Now, I did not want to look like I just wrapped the flag around and called it an outfit, but I wanted to look patriotic and still feel like this was me.

I chose this fun black high-low dress at Avalon here in Orlando with these white strs on it and I immediately knew what my outfit would be. I also picked up this cool denim jacket and I got some letters at Michael's so that I could put my name on the back of it to always remind me of who I am and where I came from. There was a time in my life when I did not like my name, but as I grew up I've definitely started to appreciate it more. I also think there's nothing more American than denim! For accessories, I opted out for minimal jewelry by adding a black choker to make the look more of my style and also a dainty necklace and dainty rings (DUH!). The bag is by Rebecca Minkoff and is currently on sale! I tied a red scarf around it to make it more festive for 4th of July. And my shoes are by Calvin Klein and they are the reddest shoes I own! I wanted to add a more of a feminine silhouette to the look by adding the shoes. since the denim jacket adds a bit more grunge to the overall look. I love the way the entire outfit came out and I love that it cost me less than $20 too!

I wish you all to have a festive 4th of July weekend! Let us celebrate this country of ours that we get to call home. Let's always remember the people that stood and stand tall for our freedom. Happy Birthday, America! I love living in you!

Hello, World!
