How To: Styling Overalls For Petites

Hi, darlings and dearests:

I don't know about you, but I have been wearing denim a LOT lately (actually, always). What can I say, it's one of the easiest pieces to style on top of making it the perfect basic. However, I can't say that I have ever been encouraged to wear overalls. It always seems to be geared toward tall and skinny women and not so much curvy petite ones like myself. But since we all know I am a rule-breaker when it comes to any fashion DO'S and DONT'S. So, naturally, I had to go get some overalls and experiment by styling them in different ways. I linked all of my current favorite pairs for you all, if you fancy yourself a pair too.

And of course, I had to make it very boho and care-free by styling it with a hat and some bell-sleeves. I am so praying that the bell sleeve trend doesn't wither away. I totally feel like a magician of sorts when I have something on with bell-sleeves.

I also added this gorgeous bag that has been all over Instagram lately. It's a dupe for the famous J. W. Andersen "Pierce" bag. You can find a great dupe here and another one here. And if you want the real deal (who doesn't?) then I linked three classic colors below. Treat yo self, girl!

Anyway, going back to the topic of this blog post. If you are a petite lady or gent ( I don't discriminate), I say you can totally rock overalls. My biggest tip is to go for a more body-hugging, fitted style. If you go for a baggy pair, it may drown you a bit and make you appear bigger than you are in real life. But if your heart is set on a baggy pair, I'd say just add some height to it. You could throw on some nude strappy sandals to give yourself those few inches. Here,I am wearing a fitted pair styled with a crop top from Free People. I also threw on some booties from Forever 21 that are still going strong after a year of constant wear for some height. I hope you enjoyed this look and let me know what you think of overalls and how you style them. Also, shout out to one the coolest neighborhoods in all of San Francisco -- THE CASTRO. Isn't it so pretty?
