Rolling Like a Stone

Note To Self:

When we're happy and all in love with ourselves, we can't be bothered with the bullshit (of our own or other people's) Jen Sincero "You Are a Badass"

As I was checking out at Barnes & Noble with three self-help books in my basket, I started to let my thoughts wander, "is this lady judging me right now?" "does she think I am a loser for buying 3 self help books in 1 trip?" "does the lady behind me think I am fat?" " did anyone notice that I am wearing active wear even though I lead a very inactive lifestyle?"

We are so hard on ourselves. We do it everyday and we beat ourselves up for every little thing. Don't deny it. I do it, you do it, we ALL do it from time to time.

I decided to read the infamous book titled "You Are A Badass" to kickstart my year. I have heard so much praise about this book so I Just had to see what the fuzz was all about. I came home that day determined to get my shit together and start anew. I ended up reading the book in a day. I wish I can say that the book is a magical potion that will turn you into your best self-loving healthy-living, universe-appreciatin', happy, smart, bright-eyed millennial BUT no, that's not the case. Now don't get me wrong the book IS FANTASTIC! It's filled with super easy exercises on self-love and a few cuss words for comedic relief and a few other goodies. But at the end of the day it's just a book. If you don't have the desire to get your poop together, this won't help. Bit I decided for myself that I will WORK at being my better self not just rely on books, internet advice or other BS. It ALL starts with you. Don't just grab a self-help book to only take a photo of it for Instagram and let it gather dust on the bookshelf for the rest of the year. Don't just say you're going to start a healthy lifestyle -- but actually be proactive about it. Don't wish you had a more fun life, work on it and let yourself get out of the shell. You can see where I'm going with this. You're a smart cookie!

But anyway...Jen Sincero, the author of "You Are A Badass" empasizes a lot on self-love which I can appreciate. So, this week I promised to make my own list of affirmations and try to actually use them daily. I hope you will like them.

1. I deserve and receive massive amounts of love every moment of every day

2. My heart is open.Love pours in and out

3. I deserve and am open to receiving all the good the Universe has prepared for me

4. I love the size of my ass and my things with stretch marks all over them

5. I am smart. I am kind. I am beautiful (with or without makeup)

6. I can do the things I set my mind to no matter how hard I make it sound in my head

7. My mistakes don't define me as a person

8. God loves me just the way that I am

I hope you can live out your truth, too, my darling. I hope my honesty and vulnerability will inspire you to do better and to reach for the stars. You are loved. And you are cherished.

Now be good and do good...
